LSU announces the opening of a new alcohol-selling venue in Death Valley. The newest addition to Tiger Stadium, an area dubbed “The Chute,” will debut on game day when LSU plays Southeastern on Saturday, September 8.
The Chute will be open to any fan age 21 and older with a valid ticket. The new area is on the ground level of the stadium on the south side between Gates 23 and 28. Beer and food will be for sale, and giant HD video boards and TVs will be there as well.
Admission to The Chute is $20 per person and includes two drinks. Additional drinks will be $6 each inside the premium area. Food service will be provided by Burgersmith. Water and sodas will also be available.
Due to Southeastern Conference regulations, all beer must be consumer inside The Chute.
“This will be a great addition for Tiger Stadium and for our fan experience,” said LSU vice chancellor and director of athletics, Joe Alleva.
The new area is named after the tunnel used to enter and exit the locker room.
The Chute will be able to hold about 1,250 fans. The Chute will open two hours and 30 minutes before kickoff each week and will close at the beginning of the 4th quarter.
