Mardi Gras Indians: So Pretty

Simply breathtaking.

New Orleans’ Mardi Gras Indians make only rare appearances, and generally only in particular locations.

From the elaborate costumes to the traditional rituals, masking as a Mardi Gras Indian has developed into a cultural art form. Mardi Gras Indians traditionally parade on Fat Tuesday and “Super Sunday,” the Sunday closest to St. Joseph’s Day.

Enjoy the beauty and pageantry.
