Mario Lopez named as Krewe of Orpheus 2019 monarch

The Krewe of Orpheus has named their monarch for this year’s parade. Mario Lopez will be riding in this year’s parade as the monarch.

The Superkrewe hosted a luncheon where they announced their theme, celebrities, entertainment, and throws.

Lopez is a radio host and former star of the 80′s television show Saved By The Bell.

Other celebrities riding in the krewe’s parade on Lundi Gras, Monday, March 4 at 6 p.m., will be stars of TruTV’s “Impractical Jokers”: Sal Vulcano, Brian “Q” Quinn, and James “Murr” Murray and country star Trace Adkins.

The parade rolls on the traditional Uptown New Orleans route on Lundi Gras at 6 p.m.

Orpheus was founded in 1993 by a small group including Harry Connick, Jr. and Captain Sonny Borey. The Krewe of Orpheus is a Mardi Gras organization open to all men and women of good character and spirited personality, according to the krewe’s website.
