Mizado Latin Kitchen Decides Not to Close After All

Mizado Latin Kitchen will remain open, due to an overwhelming community response since the restaurant recently announced it was closing its doors this June.

The restaurant announced it will stay open via its Facebook page on Thursday, May 25. Previously, the restaurant planned to re-open as Zea Rotisserie & Bar in early fall.

“We hear you, and we’re listening. Mizado will continue to celebrate life here on Ponchartrain Boulevard,” the post said.

The popular margarita spot plans to modify restaurant hours to accommodate staffing and provide the best experience for diners. The new hours of operation are as follows: Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Hans Limburg, Gary Darling and Greg Reggio of Taste Buds, the group owns Zea’s and Semolina, opened Mizado in 2013. It’s located 5080 Pontchartrain Blvd.
