After years of planning, holiday carriage rides, called “Muletide” rides, are now a reality at New Orleans City Park for Celebration in the Oaks.
The new partnership between Royal Carriages and City Park is a special one, hoping to bringing families closer together in time for the holidays, Royal Carriages announced in a release.
“We are excited to create a new holiday attraction in one of the best urban parks nationwide,” said Royal Carriages Director of Marketing Kimmie Carlos. “As one of the oldest carriage companies in the country at 78-years strong, we want all of New Orleans to experience history with us to celebrate the season and, hopefully, create new family traditions.”
The mules will be decked in holiday gear, including a mule named Mr. Bingle. Doesn’t that name get you into the holiday spirit?
Rides are set to start on Dec. 2, departing from Irby Avenue near Storyland, and will run on various nights throughout the month.
Each tour runs 30-minutes from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will wind through one of the most iconic holiday displays New Orleans has to offer.
Ticket for rides cost $20, and children under three years-old are free. Tickets are available on-site, but online ticket purchases are suggested at www.neworleanscarriages.com.
A Preview Party for Friends of City Park Members is slated for Nov. 22 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Call up your friends and family and tell them you’ve got the holidays already planned out.
