Multi-million dollar indoor entertainment complex opens in New Orleans East

New Orleans East is now home to a brand new 24,000 square-foot, indoor amusement center called Optimus Entertainment.

The official grand opening was on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9820 Lake Forest Boulevard. City leaders attended a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The entertainment complex offers unlimited fun with more than 50 exclusive games to choose from, as well as, two laser tag arenas, bumper cars, a 12 seat, 12-D interactive theater, a soft play indoor toddler playground with a ball pit and six party rooms to rent for parties and corporate events. Guests can also expect a full service restaurant.

Optimus is at the center of a newly renovated 42,000 square foot retail outlet near New Orleans East Hospital and East New Orleans Regional Library.

The space had been vacant since Hurricane Katrina and now takes on a new life thanks to investors who pumped more than $4 million into bringing it back into commerce.

The retail strip will also house the newest We Dat’s Chicken & Shrimp location that will have drive-thru access.

The Professional E-Sports Gaming League E-Cafe has plans to open in the spring offering access to the most popular e-sports games available. It will have more than 50 designated stations and a refreshment bar with snack options to fuel gamers.
