New comedy club, Chuckles Comedy House, heading to Oakwood Center this fall

A new comedy club, Chuckles Comedy House, is set to open at Oakwood Center (formerly Oakwood Mall) in Gretna this fall.

The 9,855-square foot location will occupy the space located at 197 Westbank Expressway, adjacent to New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co., according to a release. A spokesperson for Stirling Properties says the company is currently finalizing construction plans.

The opening will mark the first Louisiana location for the national entertainment concept. Chuckles Comedy House has two other locations in Jackson, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee.

Darvis Harvey, chief operating officer of Chuckles Comedy House New Orleans, says the concept was created to “fill a void in the entertainment industry.”
