“You can see the concept is that this lady is on the front line. She’s risking her life everyday to make sure that we’re safe,” Osborne said in a Facebook video unveiling the project.

The artist said the painting honors medical professionals and other service industry “front line” workers like grocery store employees, bus drivers and other first responders.

In the painting, the subject is shown wearing scrubs with a medical shield on the shoulder, and her arm bears a tattoo that says “Front Line.”

Osborne said the band-aid on the worker’s arm is “a symbol that these workers are as susceptible to the virus as everyone else.”

The worker is also shown wearing fleur-de-lis earrings as a tribute to New Orleanians and Louisiana, along with the “infamous mask.”

“Look at the expression on her face,” Osborne said in the video. “She’s courageous; she’s serious about what’s she’s doing.”

Osborne said he is giving away 1,000 posters to local hospitals.
