Here's a way to virtually experience the thrilling Ladybug roller coaster from the comfort of your couch.
Many visitors to City Park’s Carousel Gardens Amusement Park consider the iconic Ladybug roller coaster a can’t-miss attraction.
At speeds close to 40 miles an hour, riders zip inside the popular roller coaster — one of New Orleans City Park’s more thrilling rides.
After Hurricane Katrina, the new and improved Ladybug roller coaster returned with much fanfare in 2015. Fabricated in Germany, the new roller coaster arrived larger and faster than its predecessor.
Prior to its return, the old Ladybug was closed for nearly a decade due to structural corrosion caused by the storm. The local favorite was first installed at City Park in the late 1980s.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the ride is one of many attractions currently shut down inside the park.
Are you missing this popular City Park attraction? Well, here’s a way to virtually experience the thrilling Ladybug roller coaster from the comfort of your couch.
Watch the video above, and get transported inside the iconic ride. Hold on tight for a zip on the popular roller coaster with all of its jerks, twists and turns.
Of course, this won’t be the same experience like actually visiting City Park. Hopefully, the point-of-view experience will serve as a welcome distraction while families are social distancing at home.
Even with facilities shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 1,300-acre park has been buzzing with activity from passive recreation.
However, City Park now faces big financial trouble due to loss of revenue from the shutdown.
