Thrill-seekers can add a new haunted attraction to their must-see list. A new “fright festival” heads to City Park this October, just in time for Halloween.

New Orleans City Park and The Mortuary Haunted Mansion team up to debut Scout Island Scream Park. For select days in October, Scout Island, a wooded area located in City Park North of I-610, will be transformed into a land of terror. Official festival dates have yet to be announced.

Scout Island Scream Park will include themed-areas like The Devil’s Swamp, Zombie Combat, Scream Factory, Cirque du Fear Fright Zone, The Horseman’s Fright Zone, Blood Bayou Fright Zone, The Kraken Beer & Spirits Pirate Club and The Paranormal Experience. Carnival Rides, and more.

The festival will have activities for all ages. Families with small children are invited to attend early and take part in the pumpkin patch, hay ride, and Scare Free Kids Zone.

The sets are built by The Mortuary Haunted Mansion craftsmen, who have frightened local thrill-seekers in the New Orleans area for more than a decade.

The seasonal City Park event will also include live music, carnival rides and food and drinks available for purchase.

General admission into Scout Island Scream Park costs $13 per person, with some attractions pay-as-you-go once on the island. Unlimited one-night passes are available for $49 per person.
