Caesars Entertainment, the parent company of Harrah’s, said the hotel and restaurant is part of a major expansion of the Nobu brand in New Orleans, Las Vegas and Atlantic City. The new expansion is a partnership between Caesars and Nobu, the company announced Tuesday.

“Our relationship with Nobu has been an unparalleled success in Las Vegas, and as we continue to invest there and in New Orleans and Atlantic City, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to deepen and expand that relationship,” Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg said in a release. “Nobu’s sophisticated elegance is the perfect complement to the multi-million dollar renovation projects we are developing in all three cities, all of which are fast becoming the nation’s top modern sports, gaming and entertainment destinations.”

Nobu, founded by De Niro, chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper, first launched as a single restaurant in New York in 1994. Since then, Nobo has blossomed into a global luxury lifestyle brand known for its unique dining experience and attracting celebrities in other major cities like Los Angeles and London.

Matsuhisa, the Japanese celebrity chef, is known for his fusion cuisine blending traditional Japanese dishes with Peruvian ingredients.

Caesars Entertainment first announced the $325 million renovation of Harrah’s New Orleans, along with the name change, in December 2020. The plans, set for completion in 2024, detail a new 340 room hotel tower, along with other expanded amenities.

Complete details about the new Nobo development at Caesars New Orleans are scarce at the moment. However, a spokesperson said the new Nobu brand is slated as “a hotel within the hotel” when the property becomes Caesars New Orleans.

Along with plans to open at the newly minted Caesars New Orleans, there are also plans for a new Nobu Hotel and restaurant at Caesars Atlantic City and a new Nobu restaurant at Paris Las Vegas.

This summer marked a hot time for high-profile hotel openings in New Orleans. The Four Seasons New Orleans opened on Canal Street, followed by the Virgin Hotels New Orleans one day later in the Warehouse District.
