Oysters anyone? Louisiana gets a new oyster festival

Oyster lovers rejoice! A new oyster festival heads to Baton Rouge.

Festival-goers can add another Louisiana festival to their summer schedules. The inaugural Baton Rouge Oyster Fest heads to downtown Baton Rouge on June 30.

The fest, headed by Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar, will converge at Galvez Plaza. Oyster lovers can expect local vendors from all throughout South Louisiana to come out and to show their best dishes.

The Baton Rouge Oyster Fest will include numerous exciting events including an Oyster Shucking Competition, an Oyster Eating Competition, and an Oyster Cookoff. There will also be live music from great artists such as The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Werewolf and Parish County Line.

Festival organizers haven’t released a full list of vendors yet.
