Popeyes is launching something big for chicken lovers on basketball’s big draft night.
To celebrate the buzz around New Orleans’ No. 1 draft pick, the fast food chain is releasing a massive “Wingspan Box” for one day only on Thursday, June 20, the company announced in a press release.
The 82-inch, super-sized box, which is equivalent to 6 feet and 10 inches, comes packed with 77 boneless wings, 11 biscuits and 11 servings of fries. We’re talking a massive dinner of deliciousness for chicken lovers.
The only Popeyes location in New Orleans offering the Wingspan Box is at 621 Canal Street. The big box will only be available on draft day, while supplies last for $74.69.
There’s been a lot of speculation and buzz around New Orleans and their likelihood to bring home a big name after beating the odds to land the top spot in the NBA Lottery.
The overwhelming consensus No. 1 pick is former Duke star Zion Williamson.
The 2019 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, June 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Popeyes was opened more than 40 years ago in New Orleans, beginning as a small restaurant that turned into a craze that swept the nation.
In 1972 Alvin C. Copeland opened “Chicken on the Run” in Arabi, serving the famous Southern-friend chicken. After several months of lackuster performance, he reopened as Popeyes, introducing spicy New-Orleans style chicken.
