Rod Stewart and Jason Derulo to headline Endymion 2018

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Rod Stewart and Jason Derulo will headline the 2018 Endymion Extravaganza, Captain Ed Muniz announced Wednesday.

Endymion rolls on the streets and into the Extravaganza at the Mercedes Benz Superdome Feb. 10, 2018. Stewart and Derulo will headline along with Groovy 7 and The Wise Guys.

Samedi Gras, a neighborhood block party, will take place on Orleans Avenue between Carrollton and City Park Blvd. at noon.

More than 50,000 people attend the free performance and features area favorites the Topcats, Groovy 7 and The Bucktown All Stars.

Endymion rolls after Samedi Gras at 4:15 on the traditional Mid-City route.

This year’s theme is “Jazz – Our Gift to the World.”

Featured floats will depict the birth of Dixieland Jazz in the infancy of the 20th century, through today and highlighting the artists and songs of one of New Orleans’s greatest legacies. Float names include Bucktown Blues, Frog Leg Rag, Snake Rag, Hyena Stomp and, When the Saints Go Marchin’ In.
