New Orleans’ own “Queen of Bounce” loves rosé so much that she decided to release her own brand, Ca di Freedia Rosé. Big Freedia announced the launch via her Facebook page.
The 100 percent Pinot Noir comes from the Lombardy region of Italy in an area called Oltrepo Pavese.
Fans who want try the performer’s wine can find it locally at Second Vine Wine. Currently, the Marigny neighboorhood wine shop is the only New Orleans location selling the sparkling rose. However, the star is working on offering the wine at more retailers, according to her Instagram post about the launch.
Second Vine Wine assistant manager Daniel Keyes describes the rosé as “similar to a Prosecco with a touch of sweetness.”
“It has light, fine bubbles and pairs well with bounce music,” Keyes said.
Big Freedia posted on both Instagram and Facebook that the store was selling her wine. Since the posts, Keyes says the wine is flying off of the retailer’s shelves. Keys says they have nearly sold out of 12 cases in just under two days. The wine currently sells for $32.99.
By the looks of Big Freedia’s Facebook post, she seems excited about the release.
“Yasss! What better way to get into the holiday cheer than with some fruity Big Freedia Rosé,” the Facebook post said.
