Ruby Slipper Cafe opens 10th location on Decatur Street

Popular brunch restaurant Ruby Slipper Café opened its doors to a new location in the French Quarter on Monday.

“We are thrilled to be part of the French Quarter, one of New Orleans’ most iconic neighborhoods,” restaurant owner Jennifer Weishaupt said. “As with our other cafés, we know this location on Decatur, with its charming size and proximity to French Quarter activities, will have its own unique flair, and we’re excited to share that with our customers.”

The Decatur Street restaurant seats around 60 guests, and its cozy atmosphere is reminiscent of the original Ruby Slipper Café on Cortez Street in Mid City.

Guests can expect the Café’s classic menu, featuring its signature twists on Southern favorites, like Bananas Foster Pain Perdu and a variety of Benedicts. The menu will also include the restaurant’s signature eye-opening cocktails.

In addition to this opening, Weishaupt and her husband, Erich, will begin renovations on The Ruby Slipper Café located at 200 Magazine Street later this month.

Opened in 2010, the restaurant hasn’t closed its doors on a regular business day since. The remodel will feature new tables, chairs and bar stools. It will also receive a fresh coat of paint and floor cleaning.

The Decatur Street location opens weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and weekends from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Ruby Slipper was founded in New Orleans in 2008.
