During the coronavirus crisis, sometimes you just need to take a break for a moment of reflection. Even though we’re stuck inside as the COVID-19 pandemic impacts the New Orleans area, it’s important to take a moment to relax.
Sure, we’ve seen eerie scenes of abandoned New Orleans streets, but there are also beautiful places to take in views while practicing social distancing.
We captured drone footage of this peaceful sunset over the Mandeville Lakefront. The scene from this historic town on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain offers a relaxing view to end your day.
While several Mandeville parks have been shut down during the stay-at-home order, Mandeville’s popular lakefront remains open. However, large crowds are prohibited.
The paved path is a popular spot for locals to walk their dogs, jog, bike or stroll. The views of Lake Pontchartrain are mesmerizing, and images of the sunset over the water make for a picture-perfect evening.
See the last traces of sunlight peak through clouds over the horizon, the vast view of the tranquil water and the giant oaks along the pathway. You’ll also see some families enjoying their evening recreation.
Here’s the perfect moment for a little escape. Take a deep breath and relax.
