Burger lovers, get ready. Shake Shake will open its first Louisiana location in Metairie at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 19.
The popular burger chain’s new location opens at 3501 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, according to a release.
This opening is the first step in a larger expansion in Louisiana with two additional locations opening this year at Canal Place and the Louis Armstrong Airport.
The 3,755 square-foot Shack will feature a patio with ample seating for guests and a custom mural by New Orleans artist Monica Kelly.
Shake Shack is a modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100 percent all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more. A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.
In addition to the classics, the Metairie Shack will be spinning up a unique selection of frozen custard concretes in partnership with local purveyor Haydel’s Bakery:
● Metairie Mixer – Vanilla custard, fudge sauce, Haydel’s Bakery praline, chocolate toffee
● Shack Attack – Chocolate custard, fudge sauce, Haydel’s Bakery chocolate brownie, Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks and chocolate sprinkles
● Pie Oh My – Vanilla custard blended with piece of Haydel’s Bakery seasonal pie
The Metairie location will also feature local brews from Abita Brewery, Nola Brewing Company, Dixie Beer and Second Line Brewing, plus Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister Ale.
Wine lovers can enjoy a glass of Shack Red and Shack White wine from the Gotham Project.
As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good, the Metairie Shack will donate 5% of sales from the Pie Oh My concrete throughout the life of the shack to Louisiana SPCA, a nonprofit animal shelter dedicated to promoting, protecting and advancing the well-being of Louisiana’s companion animals.
In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to green architecture and eco-friendly construction, the Metairie Shack’s tabletops will be made by CounterEvolution using reclaimed bowling alley lanes; chairs will be designed by Uhuru using sustainable materials; and booths will be crafted by Staach using lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
The first 100 people in line when doors open at 11 a.m. will receive Shake Shack swag and a custom Dirty Coast t-shirt, according to a release.
The brand is looking to hire around 70 full time and part time team members. Apply online at ShackCareers.com.
