Sista Strut New Orleans postpones breast cancer walk due to Coronavirus concerns

Sista Strut New Orleans postpones its annual event in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.

The breast cancer walk, originally scheduled for March 28 at Woldenberg Park will now be held on September 12, iHeart Media announced.

“We appreciate your understanding and hope you are all able to join us on our new date to continue the fight against breast cancer!” the organization said in a statement.

The goal of Sista Strut is to heighten awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color, as well to provide valuable information on community resources. Sista Strut recognizes the strength of survivors, their family and friends all while promoting early detection and the search for a cure.
