Spring doesn’t officially start until March 20. However, trading king cake season for sno-ball season doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

Hansen’s Sno-Bliz announced on Facebook its seasonal reopening of the Tchoupitoulas Street staple on Friday, March 8. The popular stand celebrates its 80th anniversary in business.

“Come join us for our Opening Day! We can’t wait to welcome you back to Tchoupitoulas Street starting tomorrow — this Friday — for our 80th anniversary season of snoballs!” the Facebook post said.

Popular Uptown sno-ball spot Plum Street Snowballs also announced its 2019 season opening on Friday, March 8 starting at 2 p.m., via Facebook.
