The St. Bernard Irish Italian Islenos Parade in Chalmette has officially been moved to 11:45 a.m. on Sunday. Parade organizers say they decided to move the parade, originally scheduled for Saturday, due to weather concerns.

This year’s parade theme is “Celebrate the 70’s 80’s and 90’s.” Nearly 50 floats will toss nearly 500,000 pounds of produce and some parade-themed throws. The legendary, and recently retired, “Voice of the Saints” Jim Henderson will serve as the parade’s Grand Marshal.

The parade starts at the St. Bernard Civic Center / Government Complex grounds, travels West to Dr. Meraux Blvd, u-turns and proceeds East to Ventura Drive (Today’s Ketch Seafood and Gerald’s Donuts Chalmette), then u-turns and proceeds back West to the starting point.

Keep up with parade updates at their Facebook page.
