Get a glimpse of beautiful and bountiful altars around the New Orleans area. The Roman Catholic tradition honors the feast of St. Joseph, which falls on Tuesday, March 19 this year. Many altars include items like Italian bread, fava beans, fruit and the traditional Italian cookies.
Some altars around the New Orleans area will open prior to the Catholic feast day, starting as early as Friday, March 15.
The Archdiocese of New Orleans lists parishes and churches throughout the area that will host an St. Joseph Altar. Contact the listed organizations for more information about their altar.
