St. Patrick’s Day Block Parties

Irish Channel Block Party | Thursday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Irish Channel annual block party happens Thursday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1500 Annunciation Street. Celebrate with free music and entertainment. Food and beverages available for purchase. Proceeds benefit St. Michael Special School.

Tracey’s Original Irish Channel Bar | Thursday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tracey’s will celebrate with the usual Irish traditions with block parties on Thursday, March 15 and Saturday, March 17. Tracey’s serves up its popular roast beef po-boys along with corned beef and cabbage. This year, the popular Irish pub debuts a fried corned beef for party-goers to test out. You’ll also find thousands of jello shots and green beer.

Pat O’Brien’s | Saturday, March 17, doors open at 10 a.m.

Pat O’Brien’s says their ready to shamrock their big St. Patrick’s day event. The bar will serve Irish food specials all day. Some drink specials include $3 Jameson, Guinness and Fuzzy Leprechaun drink specials. The party will also feature a live DJ on the Patio from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and live music in the Piano Bar from 2 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Parasol’s Bar & Restaurant | Saturday, March 17, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Music, green beer, food and surprises. The start of the block parties on the day of the Irish Channel Parade.

Finn McCool’s Irish Pub | Saturday, March 17 at 1 p.m.

The Mid-City pub will host viewings of Rugby matches starting at 7:30 a.m. ahead their annual block party festivities which kick off at 1 p.m. St. Pat’s fun includes the Irish Olympics, live music, karaoke and the Wee Parade. Rum & the Lash will be serving up Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Stew & plenty more to keep bellies full.

Covington St. Patrick’s Block Party Celebration at Jewel’s Cigar | Saturday, March 17, noon until 5 p.m.

After the Covington St. Patrick’s Day parade head to Jewel’s Cigar for a block party. The party at Jewel’s Cigar has lots of free, family fun to keep the celebration going. The performance lineup includes Kits of Many Colors, St. Kilda, McElroy Irish Dance Academy and Mike Bordelon Blues Band. The event is free but there will be food and drinks available for purchase. Sweet Daddy’s BBQ will have their airstream at the block party. Toad Hollow will have plenty of Irish beer and drinks on hand at their bar as the block party takes place on their doorstep. Some othere restaurants and businesses, including Meribo on Lee Lane and The English Tea Room & Eatery on Rutland St., will have watch-parties during and after the parade, but parade-goers should spread out along the whole route to get the best view and special catches!
