The St. Tammany Fishing Pier in Slidell is set to reopen at 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, after a three-month seasonal closure.
On opening day, admission is free to everyone who visits for fishing or just sightseeing.
Regular admission after opening day is $3 to fish for anyone 12 years of age or older and $1 for sightseers. Children under 12 are free.
Parish President Pat Brister says Thursdays will be considered “Discount Days,” meaning senior citizens, active duty military and veterans can fish for $1.
The St. Tammany Fishing Pier is located at 54001 Howze Beach Road near Slidell. The hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Sunday. Click here for more information.
