Fans of the classic sitcom “Friends” will get the chance of a lifetime to sit on the iconic orange couch featured on the show as part of the show’s 25th anniversary celebration.
The best news is that the couch will make a stop in New Orleans. Fans will get the opportunity to recreate the show’s beloved opening credits when it stops in Jackson Square on Thursday, Sept. 19 through Sunday, Sept. 22.
According to New Orleans & Company, the French Quarter’s Washington Artillery Park will feature a replica of the Friends couch for photo ops. A brass band second line featuring umbrellas in the Friends’ colors will kick off the celebration.
The couch will be open to the public from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 19 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Sept. 20 to Sept. 22.
Phoebe, Chandler, Joey, Ross, Rachel and Monica all sat on the orange couch at Central Perk coffeehouse, and you can too as it gets ready to tour around the country, according to USA Today.
To pull off the promotion, NBC produced 30 waterproof replicas of the couch so it could be placed and left outside for friends and fans of the show to visit anytime. So grab your friends and put this on the to do list for your Nola Weekend.
