The Polar Express Train Ride brings the beloved Christmas story to life aboard a real train this holiday season. Organizers say tickets are still available for the magical experience on select dates until Jan. 1.
Powered by Amtrak, magical experience lets families ride as trains depart Union Passenger Terminal for a one-hour journey to meet Santa.
“This amazing adventure has turned into an annual tradition for those who truly BELIEVE and tickets make the perfect gift for loved ones. Guests feel like they’ve stepped right into the pages of the story and we pride ourselves in offering a holiday experience like no other,” said Jamie Ryan, Rail Events Productions Marketing Manager.
Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the story during an interactive experience led by a cast of professional actors.
Once on board, tickets are punched, hot chocolate and cookies are served by dancing chefs, and passengers read along with the classic children’s book, “The Polar Express,” by Chris Van Allsburg.
First published in 1985, the popular Christmas picture book tells the story of a boy who takes a magical Christmas Eve train ride to the North Pole to receive a special gift from Santa.
Santa and his helpers greet passengers and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell. Hosts aboard each car lead passengers in festive holiday entertainment and fun Christmas-themed activities throughout the trip.
Train rides launched early December and continue through Jan. 1 on select dates. Ticket prices start at $40 for children ages 2 to 11 and $50 for adults ages 12 and up. Infants under age 2 ride free.
Exact dates, fares and times are available at the website. Polar Express also offers a limited-time offer. Use the promo code “12DAYS” for $12 off any tickets on trains Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.
