EPCOT hosts its own International Food and Wine Festival, making it the perfect spot for foodies.
In New Orleans, we love food, and we love festivals.
Right now, Epcot park is hosting its own International Food and Wine Festival, making it the perfect spot for foodies.
The chefs here say they’re going big for Epcot’s largest festival.
“Here at Epcot, we have one of the biggest food and beverage operations of all four theme parks,” said Philip Rizo, EPCOT Food Festival sous chef. “And it’s really in Walt’s vision of bringing different cultures and ideas together in one unique spot.”
Guests can take a tasty tour around the world with more than 30 stations representing food from different countries. And it’s even a feast for the eyes, down to the desserts.
“When Walt Disney World first opened, food was more of an amenity. It wasn’t like part of the show,” said Crystal Saunders, EPCOT pastry sous chef. “And Epcot is definitely the foodie park. So if we were going to do something for the 50th anniversary, we had to go as big as we ever have before.”
The event runs through November; just make sure you bring an empty stomach.
“Calories just don’t count at Disney. That’s what I always tell people,” Saunders said.
