Fans Must Apply for Entry Tickets This Year
Things are a little different this year in that fans must apply for tickets. Tickets will be required for entry to open training camp practices. The tickets are free, but it’s on a first-come, first-served basis. Season ticket holders have priority and can apply starting Wednesday, July 19. Wait list members can apply on July 20, and the rest of the public applies on July 21. Tickets are limited to four per individual per practice. Visit the Saints website to apply.
Enjoy a New 'Fan Fest' Experience
This year, the Saints introduce a new fan fest element on certain practice days. Who Dats can experience Fan Fest on July 29, July 30, Aug. 5, Aug. 6, Aug. 12, Aug. 13 and Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The fest will feature interactive Saints and New Orleans Pelicans-themed fan experiences, concession offerings and merchandise booths offering the newest Saints gear.
Look for a New 'Cool Zone' Area
The Saints will partner with Rouses Markets to introduce a new “Cool Zone” area for fans visiting the event this year. Not very much has been revealed about the features of the cool zone area yet, so stay on the lookout.
Bring Your Sharpie
Fans typically have a chance to get autographs from Saints players once the practice ends. Be sure to bring your sharpie and a football or something else for them to sign.
Keep a Lookout for Celebrity Appearances
You never know who you might see at training camp. Celebrities and other athletes have been known to show up over the years. Peyton Manning was seen observing the players from the sidelines, and country singer Kenny Chesney even suited up and practiced with the team.
Come Prepared With Your Training Camp Essentials
Prepare for hot days out at training camp. There isn’t a lot of shade so make sure you bring, sunblock, a hat and perhaps a small umbrella to provide your own shade. Outside food and drinks are not allowed. However, they will be available for purchase at the concession stand. There’s limited seating as well. Bring chairs or be prepared to stand if you don’t get there early enough to grab a seat.
Take Note of Prohibited Items
Fans are advised to arrive early as they will be checked via hand-wanding and all bags will be checked by security. To ensure safety, several items are prohibited. Here’s the list:
